My Doctor Lied To Me: Can There Be Trust Again?

Something I have been struggling with for a few months

I went to my doctor back in May after I got diagnosed with ADHD along with some other things. I was going back to my primary care doctor on her recommendation to continue on the journey of trying to find the right medication for me.

So, I went to this appointment at it she said that we should try ADHD medication but in order to do so I would have to have a drug test. I freely admitted that I wouldn’t pass so there would be no point.

She went on to tell me that because ADHD medication is regulated by the federal government and marijuana although recreational is legal is not federally legal and therefore before she could prescribe the medication I had to pass a drug test. I said okay.

In my head, however, I started to question that. I know someone that lives in California who is on ADHD medication and also smokes so I just wondered if that was a law like she was saying.

I went along with it though and we ended the appointment with no increase to any medication and just having to stop consuming marijuana and wait a month.
